The Grove Theatre

The Historic Grove Theatre in Oak Ridge holds a rich history of memories for many in the East Tennessee area. Constructed during the Manhattan Project & recently renovated, the theater is home to numerous local arts organizations. It is currently owned and operated by High Places Community Church.

Reserving The Historic Grove Theatre

IMPORTANT NOTE: We are primarily a performing arts venue. Fridays and Saturdays are the optimal time for doing shows, and we tend to give priority to concerts, recitals, plays, and other events that make use of our large auditorium / stage. While we do have classrooms available for use, expect lobby and bathroom traffic — and expect that you may have to coordinate with the Arts group on the calendar for use of rooms.

1.  First, check the facility calendar below for available dates. The calendar is as up-to-date as possible, but there are always cancellations and new requests being considered.  So, don't hesitate to inquire about a date regardless of how it might appear on the calendar.

2. Our (volunteer) admin team meets on Monday and Friday mornings to answer emails, review calendar requests, and provide administrative support to the theater. Got a question about a specific date or time? Send us an email at highplaceschurch@gmail.com.

3. A completed facility use agreement is required for all events to be considered formally booked. You can fill out and submit the agreement here: Facility Use Agreement. Our admin team meets twice a week, so please allow a correspondingly appropriate time for our response. Thank you!

4. If your event plans to serve alcohol, please read: The Grove Theater Alcohol Policy.

5. When a requested date is available, an orientation will be scheduled to familiarize you with the facility and complete the necessary paperwork to secure the date.

6. ALWAYS check back here after receiving an approval for your request. Go to the date you request and make sure it appears on our calendar. Check the details that have been recorded to insure accuracy. Thank you!

7. If you have promotional materials, please forward them to highplaceschurch@gmail.com so they can be added to our website.

That's it! Remember that part of our vision is creating a shared space so be flexible, be patient, and be respectful to staff and property as we work with you on your event. We're on this journey together; our destination is a brighter tomorrow by celebrating community and building trust.
