The Grove Theater

The Historic Grove Theatre in Oak Ridge holds a rich history of memories for many in the East Tennessee area. Constructed during the Manhattan Project & recently renovated, the theater is home to numerous local arts organizations. It is currently owned and operated by High Places Community Church.

37th MLK Day Celebration

The Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) sorority is celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day with its annual Scholarship Program. The free event will be held at 9:45 a.m. Monday at High Places Community Church inside the Historic Grove Theater, 123 Randolph Road, Oak Ridge.

Ruby Miller will emcee the event that includes SECME students, the Mount Zion Baptist Church choir, and Scholarship Awards presentations. The keynote speaker will be Josefa Bethea Wall, director of planned giving for Africa University. The Church Women United organization will provide desserts.
