IMPORTANT NOTE

RE: COVID-19 & THE HISTORIC GROVE THEATER

We want to convey to our community how deeply saddened we are that this pandemic is upending so many lives. We regret the loss of life, the loss of jobs, and the impact that social distancing is having on the ways we gather and experience community. It has been a long series of months now and our hearts long for the days of being able to freely gather to share in music, dance, and meaningful events. We are confident that those days will return to us soon and understand that many are easing back into a new normal.

We are committed to protect the health of our community and neighbors. We encourage vaccination and as new variants emerge, encourage masks and social distancing for the unvaccinated. We realize this is an honor system we are all on, but are also hopeful people will do the right thing.

As we look to 2022, here’s what our community should know and expect regarding the Grove Theater:

  1. We will comply with both CDC and City of Oak Ridge recommendations for any gatherings. This will include attendance requirements, mask and social distancing recommendations for unvaccinated individuals, and sanitarly clearning after each facility booking.

  2. In the interest of public safety, for 2022, there will be a flat $75 CoVid-19 cleaning fee for groups who do not wish to wipe down all surfaces and provide a sanitary cleaning. We feel this is necessary so that the facility can be professionally cleaned after each use, and so that we can with honesty and integrity, convey to every new group arriving, that we practiced due diligence in protecting them from the virus. For over 15 years of serving our community, we have never asked for a fee. However, we feel that this is necessary in this moment to insure that cleaning is done correctly and thoroughly for the sake of public health.

We’re all in this together. And the day in which we can again enjoy live performances and special events will return. As we prepare and work toward this future, you are once again welcome to join us for the journey. Your feedback, questions, and comments regarding CoVid-19 and the Grove Theater are appreciated. Please direct them to friendsofthegrove@comcast.net.

Thank you and Godspeed as we recover and prepare for a beautiful time of reunion and re-connection as the threat of this virus wanes.
